Be careful on steep slopes with soft and wet snow, a skier can trigger avalanches here. Keep distance to cornices and areas with glide-cracks.

You can easily trigger avalanches on a few steep slopes. Avalanches are relatively harmless to people, but can knock you off balance. Can be dangerous close to terrain traps. (size 1)

Snødekket er generelt smelteomvandlet og vårlig med mye vann i snøen. Det er generelt lite snø i fjellene vest for Svolvær, mer snø mot øst. I høyden og spesielt på Hinnøya er det mye snø i fjellet for årstiden.

Generelt stabile forhold, men i bratt terreng kan våte løssnøskred løses ut.
Unngå terreng under glidesprekker og skavler. Glideskred er uforutsigbare, men kan forekomme der det er forhold for det, for eksempel der underlaget er svaberg eller bratt gressbakke.
